Pleased to announce Freya Samuel as
our new camp faculty member.

Cellist Freya Samuels graduated from Boston’s New England Conservatory of Music in 1975.  Among her orchestra positions  are The Opera and Ballet Orchestras of Boston, The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, ALEA III, a contemporary music ensemble in residence at Boston University, The Atlantic Symphony (Canada), and The ToledoSymphony. For 17 years Ms. Samuels was the solo cellist in the Grammy-Award-winning New England Ragtime Ensemble conducted by Gunther Schuller. Every summer since 1986 she performs with The Peninsula Music Festival conducted by renowned violinist/conductor
Victor Yampolsky.
Ms. Samuels has a private studio that consists of 20 cello students.  She is Director of Chamber Music at Duquesne University’s City Music Center and is an active freelance cellist in Pittsburgh.

Every year in July, we host our String Chamber Music Camp for all levels at the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon.
